| WHAT ARE DRG GROUPERS? |
| The process of assigning a DRG to an inpatient medical record is called "grouping" and the software that performs the grouping is called a "grouper." |
| WHICH ALGORITHM DOES DRGGroupers.COM USE? |
| DRGGroupers.Com's products and services use the US Federal DRG assignment algorithm. The DRGs assigned via this algorithm are sometimes called HCFA DRGs or the CMS DRGs. We do NOT support state DRG algorithms, RDRGs, APDRGs or APGs. Note: to price an inpatient visit, ie calculate reimbursement, you would multiply the DRG weight of the DRG our grouper returns by the relevant facility factor. Our grouper products don't do this for you. |

Since we are a technical firm, we started out making groupers for programmers. This lead to providing some batch grouping software for health care consultants. Due to popular demand, we added some interactive grouping software for medical reviewers in hospitals and insurance companies. Finally, we were asked so often about one-time DRG assignment that we added a DRG Assignment Service (DAS). With all these different DRG-related product offerings, our customers started getting confused, so we added a Grouper product finding wizard to help you navigate our product line. |

We never like to buy anything ourselves without trying it out first, and we assume that you feel that way too, so we provide free demos of our actual software. The catch is that the demo only knows about version 12 DRGs, which were current from 10/1/1995 through 9/30/1996. You can try our web-based grouper right now. Or you can download our demo software and try some of our products on your own machine and on your own time. We also provide some DRG-related support information, free, on our downloads page. |
